Though I am firmly in agreement with getting marijuana legalized, I am adamantly against big pharma turning it into a controlled, for-profit venture. All you’ll wind up with here is even more illicit peddling (you really don’t think those pills will be AFFORDABLE for people who aren’t on some glitzy insurance plan) and even more people behind bars simply for having an ounce or two, only now it would be for something like “possession of a prescription narcotic”.

I can’t believe it either. But unfortunately it is true. You will
find a link to the article within this link for Stroup. I don’t have
the time to dig up the St. Pierre quote at the moment. But this is bad
enough. Then there is Martinez (OR, NORML) saying she would like to
see marijuana grown by Hispanic Prisoners. This is just awful. But it
is true.
