Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud put on a great performance and helped the Buckeyes secure their first victory of the 2021 season over Minnesota, 45-31.

Stroud started a big shake in the first half. He was unable to throw his first collegiate touchdown pass until the second quarter when he and Chris Olave hung on for 38 yards. It was the push Stroud and the Buckeyes needed to stay in the game and really push them past Minnesota.

The Ohio State defense wreaked havoc for Minnesota in the second half. Haskell Garrett recovered a fumble from Tanner Morgan and executed it in the end zone for 32 yards.

Morgan and Minnesota tried to stay in the game as long as they could. This did not help Mohamed Ibrahim to get injured at the start of the third quarter. He finished with 163 rushing yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns, but not having him in the backfield hurts in the long run.
