Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman continue to reflect on their life together as they revisit the site where they got engaged around 15 years ago.
“We got engaged right here in New York City,” the country superstar, 53, said during his visit to the “Today” show on Friday. “I proposed here on the Hudson.”
Urban and Kidman, 54, met at an event in 2005 and Urban said he knew the “Nine Perfect Strangers” actress would one day become his wife. Since then, the couple has been inseparable.
“She’s just that one, that was it,” he said on Dax Shepard’s podcast, “Armchair Expert,” last year. “She was the one I was looking for all my life, and everything not only changed, but must have changed in me if I was going to take this road. It was like a final turning point in my life. It was literally. like: “Either you get it right now, or you’ll never, ever succeed. It’s your only shot. “”

The “Speed of Now” performer took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a return video of himself swinging a mule while performing on what appeared to be a talent show.
As young Urban’s performance seemed off the charts for his age, a judge on the show nearly dashed Urban’s hopes when he told Urban he didn’t have the makings to be successful as a solo artist.
Seemingly indifferent to the negative comments, Urban turned that moment into an inspiration to his followers and captioned the video, “Sometimes… you just have to prove them wrong.”

Meanwhile, Kidman also recently opened up about his life with Urban before fame, telling Glamor UK in November that his parents “had nothing” when they moved to the United States from Australia.
“I’ve always been aware of the privilege because both of my parents came out of nothing,” Kidman told the publication for its digital cover issue. “When we moved to America we had nothing.”
“My parents had to go to the Salvation Army and receive a mattress, which we all slept on, while my mother helped my father to do his doctorate because he came from a very poor family,” he said. she continued. “When he became a psychologist, he would offer his behavior therapy for nothing if they didn’t have the money, because he just wanted to help.”

Kidman praised his father as “one of the sweetest, kindest fathers who was a donor,” adding that since his mother was a nurse, naturally his family “had that social conscience.”
“I also married a man who was totally self-taught and who came from a background where he said that every brick in his house was a concert,” she said in praise of Urban. “He grew up on a farm, literally in a shed. They had no bedrooms. Four of them lived in a shed which then burned down.”

Urban and Kidman share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 13, and Faith Margaret, 10. Kidman also has two grown children, Bella and Connor, from his previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
