Moeen Ali’s IPL Prize: CSK buys Moeen Ali after intense battle with Punjab Kings; Rajasthani Royals choose Shivam Dube

Rajasthani Royals choose Shivam Dube: The Indian all-rounder has attracted interest from two franchises as expected due to his skills.

Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings have fulfilled their lonely quota abroad by purchasing England all-rounder Moeen Ali. The Super Kings, who were in desperate need of a spinner, were likely to make an offer for Ali.

Ali, 33, who narrowly missed the fastest half-century test against India in Chennai the other day, sparked a bidding competition between CSK and the Punjab Kings.

Although the Punjab Kings have the biggest purse with them, the Super Kings were optimistic enough on Ali to buy it for a huge INR 7 crore. After playing under Virat Kohli at the Royal Challengers Bangalore for three seasons, Ali will play now under former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Chennai.

Rajasthani Royals choose Shivam Dube

Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube, who was Ali’s teammate at RCB last season, has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 4.4 crore. After spending a few years at RCB, the hard-hitting all-rounder is likely to leave an impact in Rajasthan.

Having done a lone ODI and 13 T20Is for India, Dube was not part of the national team after the Indian tour to New Zealand last year. In five appearances for Mumbai in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Dube had been their leading scorer with 161 points with an average and strike rate of 40.25 and 138.79 respectively.
