Splatoon 3 has been confirmed with an all-new gameplay trailer that features new locations, customization, features, weapons and more.
Fans of the show have been arriving for a long time, but Splatoon 3 has been officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch. The popular shooters franchise will launch its third entry in 2022, possibly with some sort of solo narrative. Details are scarce, but the new trailer and announcement for the game were among the brightest moments in the latest Nintendo Direct presentation.
The long awaited Splatoon 3 will be the second entry in the series to make its way to Nintendo Switch, following the game’s initial sequel in 2017. The series has made a name for itself with its unique approach to a competitive third-person shooter, including making it accessible to all ages. Players have to paint the map with their team color while fighting other players, the more team color paint on the ground, the easier the player can navigate the map and quickly achieve victory . It’s colorful, fun, and fills a void of competitive shooters that are valid on Nintendo platforms.
During a new Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed alongside a new remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword than the long awaited Splatoon 3 will be released in 2022. More details are expected in the future, but the first trailer features a more extensive customization system as well as a pet that players can walk around with (though it’s unclear what ‘there will be different forced to stick to this weird little chicken / fish hybrid). The trailer also features a new environment, a vacant lot with an upturned Eiffel Tower and a train going back and forth between this neighborhood and the city. The trailer also features typical multiplayer matches and fights, but there’s nothing particularly new or noteworthy about it.
The YouTube description of the trailer gives more ideas on this Splatoon 3 will hold in store. “Splatoon 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022! In the aftermath of the chaos, enter the sunburnt Splatlands and new town, Splatsville, home to battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. New weapons, new moves, and more await, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates to come,The trailer’s description reads. This seems to confirm that there will be more unique content not yet shown in the initial release trailer. In particular, players will keep a keen eye out for new weapons as the game could present.
The Nintendo Direct has also confirmed a number of other new games beyond. Splatoon 3, as a collection of Ninja gaiden Games. Unfortunately, no new details have been revealed for Breath of the Wild 2, but it has been confirmed that the game will receive more information later this year. Nintendo also took the first look at a new Mario golf game, titles ports like Stubbs the zombie, as well as new third-party titles like a DC Super Hero Girls Game.
